Gurugram: Raped and blackmailed with obscene photos, 2 go to cops

GURUGRAM: In separate cases filed on Thursday, two women alleged that they had been raped and blackmailed for two years. In both the cases, the men had allegedly morphed their obscene photographs and videos and were using them to repeatedly rape them and extract money.In the first case, the 32-year-old woman, who is an accounts manager with a company, says she had befriended the alleged perpetrator Mandeep, a resident of Rohtak, two years back. She claimed that since then, Mandeep had been taking her to a hotel and raping her forcibly. When she protested, he threatened to make the doctored images public and even kill her. “In July, when he called me again and asked to come to a hotel, I finally confided in my husband,” the survivor told the officials at Women Police Station, where an FIR has been filed.A similar case has been registered at the Rajendra Park police station in which a 30-year-old home-maker alleged that an acquaintance from her hometown visited her in Gurugram and raped her repeatedly for around two years. He, too, used the same pretext to keep her from turning him in. “He claimed that he had objectionable videos and pictures of me and threatened to make them viral,” shared the mother of three. FIRs have been registered against in both cases under Sections 376 (rape), 506 (criminal intimidation) of IPC.
